The mystery
of the moon
Cleared up
not on a day of June
But on this
day of July
When
Armstrong in his shuttle he did fly!
Beautiful,
silvery, the favorite of the dreamy
We did hope
to find in you our alchemy
A sister to
our planet
Your shadow follows
like a comet!
A silent
presence, you know how to choose your appearance
Whether thin
or full, always the object of clairvoyance
Permanently
peaceful, your green little men invade us not
Probably
since they have no mascot or they fear to riot!
One small
step for that man
One giant
for us, the others of his kind
His words
bespoken are still spoken
By the many
following in his line!
Consecrate
this day to his remembrance
Thankful we
are all for his guidance
Though he
owed us not any allegiance
Yet he
removed from our minds one part of ignorance!
