My open palms~~~~

I opened my palms
And showed them to Life
See, I said, I have nothing
Except the treasure that the lines
Drawn therein by my fate
To give to you!

Is it not enough, whispered Life
What did you think I expect from you
Gold and diamonds?
Notes and coins?
Assets and societal status?
Pray, these are not that which cause in me
Existential bliss!

What would you expect from me then Life?
I asked, my palms still open

Why, I would prefer to see you seeing through me
I would prefer to see you focused on the necessary
On my aim towards all individuals
On my real essence
On my real purpose
My truth
My cause
I would prefer to see you questioning me
And seek to be immersed in my hidden wisdom
Yes, I would prefer to see you seek for the secret pathways
To bring yourself to a point of cosmic exalt
Such that you do get to decipher my puzzles
And reach a stage whereby you do give me a hand
In being!

Then, I shall keep these palms open
I said, both relieved and resolute at the same time
I shall keep them open
As I intend to do just as you said
I shall keep them open
As I intend to accept all that you give
I shall keep them open
So that you accept the hardships that I shall go through, for you
I shall keep them open
So that you do see the extent of my allegiance towards you
And of course,
Value it!

Life became silent and faced me
Her face was like mine
Worried and stoic
As if, we were both sisters,
Engaged in serving and ruling
And knew, very well,
How painful is the load of such a burden
As it weighs over our shoulders!

Life sighed and I breathed in heavily
Then, still stoic,
We both went back to our toils!

If I am to be~~~

If I do have to touch the shimmer of stars
It will have to be by your side
Free and light
My heart would fear not any crumbling
As it would know that your strong arms
Are around!

Pray, if I do have an aim in life
Such remains to be the part that completes you
As your inner force, your drive
Your peace, your haven,
Your secret garden,
From which you would pluck fruits
As you do deem it best to!

Why, can you hear it, the soft notes of the flute
The soft notes celebrating love
The soft notes which have been cut and shaped for us
As the radiance of our love
Outshines everything else about life
From its frugalities to its most precious needs!

If I do have to define a place for myself in this world
Such remains in the very depth of your heart
There where ivies remain evergreen
There where the moon glows brighter than the sun
As it has to celebrate, all the time,
The intermingling of our souls
Our souls, full of zeal for each other!

Pray, if I am to be,
It will have to be as your most prized chattel
That which you would both need and seek for
Whether for survival needs
Or merely to gaze at with pleasure!

Yes,
If I do have to touch the shimmer of stars
It will have to be by your side
Else, everything about life would be void
And best would it be to be thrust into the dark matter
The dark nether
That which exists as inexistence
Beyond the realms of the highest subtle powers!

The swells gave way~~~

The swells are way too burdensome
My frail heart, with its weak arms
Won't be able to hold on
They shall give way
And then, those swells shall flood in
Everywhere and drown everyone!

The swells, though, know how to pretend
To be tamed
So that easily I do get attracted to them
Wanting to play with them
Wanting to make myself believe that I am strong
Enough to hold them in place!

The swells, roaring louder as each second passes by
Cause my arms to wobble
And within minutes, to break
Why, the pain, unbearable
Shatters my whole self!

As the swells surge towards me
I just wish to be like them
Powerful, mighty,
Having the ability to destroy
Invoking fear in others!

Pray, the feeling of conquering is awesome
Made of the same essence as the swells
I flood in every nook and crook of Earth
Enjoying the moment of submerging and possessing
Knowing that, after my passage
The scenery shall no more be same!

Somehow, the bells of my conscience do ring
Somehow, I try to swallow these in my gulps
Why worry about that which we have no notion of?

If life was a mystery novel~~~~

What if life was a mystery novel
And we, mere characters,
We fill its pages with our quests,
Our everyday toils,
Our desires, our dreams,
Our ambitions, our secret yearnings,
Our hidden crimes, our obsessions?

Pray, if life was a mystery novel
Having as aim, the solving of our own puzzle
And bringing us to the solution
As subtly as it can
By having us go through our transitions
Our phases, our moods,
Our aging, so that the mystery unfolds
The moment we realize our true nature
The moment we close our eyes to this world
The moment we shed off our skin
And fly, like Tinker Bell,
To the land of the great Pan,
Where meant we are to enjoy our existence,
As long as Existence itself
Would be?

Why, if life was a mystery novel
I would certainly choose to be a tragic heroine
One who makes of herself a mystery
Aiming to have others read me
And conclude about me
Till I do reach my grand awakening!

Pray, a mystery novel, a tragic heroine,
Going about my many steps
By slowly waltzing in solo
To the sweets tunes of the flute
Dancing and uncovering the puzzles of life
As easily as does a juggler
When performing for the nth time at a Broadway Show!

Pray, if life was a mystery novel,
I would have surely chosen it to be
One imbibed with adventure on the one hand
And love on the other
All trapped in a snow globe
Which would get shaken, from time to time
By the one hand which rules us all
Meaning to have us immersed in our duties
So that we do get to appreciate its power!

Why, life, lived thus,
Would weigh lightly on our souls,
Life, lived thus,
Is sure to have a happy ending!

In the furore of confusion

Encaged in a closed space
Where the walls are made of moving gases
Thick and opaque
I try to understand how I reached there!

Hoping not to end up suffocated
I breathe in and out in a relaxed manner
Telling myself that it must all be a dream
Why, I, who have always revered freedom
How am I to survive in such a closed space?

The gases move and twirl all around me
I grope with my hands and try to find an opening
A door, a window, something
To simply allow me to walk out
And never look back!

But no miracle happened
I deemed myself as being doomed
To spend the rest of my existence
Such
Encaged, suffocated
Blinded, struggling
Seeking freedom!

Pray, is life not such
Are we not encaged in our bodies
Limited by their abilities
Blinded by the veil of ignorance
Suffocated by the weight of our duties
Freedom lies there where the limits of what we do seem are
Freedom lies there where the limits of what we do claim to know are
And the limits of what we do claim to rule are
Freedom comes, but we have to walk our way towards it
Sitting and waiting for it to come would be of no use!

So I kept my head lowered down
And walked to where my feet wanted to
Trusting my inner intuition
I walked and walked in the midst of the twirling gases
Even if these tended to get thicker and thicker
I walked,
Faith bent, knowing that somehow,
Someday, I shall meet the gates of freedom!

Mystical Cupidity

Pray, eyes closed, in the silence of the night
I see,
Deserts filled with hungry kisses
Deserts vibrating with the dance of the oases
Deserts ruled by love and its royal stature

Eyes closed, in the silence of the night
I see,
Stars, shedding off their mystery
And reaching out to me
To fill my curiosity
With the depth of their expanse!

Eyes closed, in the silence of the night
I can only breathe in and out
Repeatedly
Pray, I am made to be submissive to existence
Somewhere, some sort of power rules over me
And to this ruling power
Have I bestowed in full allegiance
My beating heart!

Eyes closed, in the silence of the night
I try to calm the frenzy that burns in me
I yearn to see what shall be the next gift bestowed on my palms
Yes, from misery to pleasure
I am ready to bear with it all
As I have proclaimed loud and clear
To be enslaved to it
Through the many games of love!

Eyes closed, in the silence of the night
I clench my fists tight
Pray, the journey of Earth may be long and tiring
But it shall come to its end
Though such a thought loads me with sorrow
Pray, I am simply impatient to see what lies at its borders!

Why, eyes closed, in the silence of the night
I pick up my pen
And let me hand dribble on my paper
Dribbling whatever it wills
As I trust the guidance of my muse
As the blind does trust their walking stick!

Eyes closed, in the silence of the night
I see other worlds,
Worlds laden with so much bliss
That once there, one does completely forget about Earth!
When courage fills me up and I manage to open my eyes
I lift my paper
And read this poem
Which I do share with you!

Knock Knock!

Knock, Knock!

Who's there, whispered I to the shadows?

It's me, Life,
I have merely come from the abode of the highest subtle powers
To see how you are faring!

Oh, Life,
I am fine,
I act as you deem me to
I behave, I follow rules
I please myself with your frugalities
I try to take less of you and to give more
I, according to me,
Am faring quite well!

Knock, Knock!

Who's there, whispered I to the shadows?

It's me, Love
I have merely come from the abode of the highest subtle powers
To see how you are faring!

Oh, Love,
I am fine,
I live both with you and without you
See, I love everything about you
I accept all that you give with open palms
I submit to you, kneel down in front you
Swallow my gulps for you and even forsake my freedom
I love you, Love!
But then, I do live without you
As I have not yet found you
You, in the guise of a man,
Ready to complete me
And to form, when united with me,
The perfect representation of the Ying and the Yang!

Knock, Knock!

Who's there, whispered I to the shadows?

It's me, the mystical side of Life,
I have merely come from the abode of the highest subtle powers
To see how you are faring!

Oh Mysticism,
I am fine,
I am constantly drowned in your essence
I need you, actually, to be able to carry on with my life
Without you, I would have lived a void life
One bent solely on acquiring,
On feeding and on pleasing myself
While carrying out my duty
Till my body, all worn and spent
Would have released me
So as to allow me to be in another!
But, with you accompanying me,
I enjoy existing
As I just know that somehow
I am kept safe and protected and that somehow,
Better things lie in wait, somewhere
Somewhere which my mundane eyes can perceive not!

Knock, Knock!

Who's there, whispered I to the shadows?

It's me, your own muse,
I have merely come from the abode of the highest subtle powers
To see how you are faring!

Oh Muse,
I am fine,
Though I keep yearning to see you
To feel you, to talk to you
As I wish to know of your essence
Are you Godly?  Or are you ghostly?
Whichever, I care not,
As the words which pour out of my soul
Are what I consider as being tokens of mercy
From your generous essence!
Though, muse, I would request you
To never ever leave my side
As without you, life becomes as stuffy
As being encaged in a glass coffin
While being alive, and being seen by the rest
As being dead!

Knock, Knock!

Who's there, whispered I to the shadows?

It's a new day!
See the bright sun shining in the azure skies
See the clouds lazy around
See the opportunities and the blessings that accompany me
Open your eyes
And pray, do live me!

To be Real!

Why do I have to wear make up

Straighten my hair

Lose weight

Wear the latest trends

And of course walk in heels

If I want to be noticed by men?

Why

Men don’t do as much

Men remain all natural

Men remain real

Men indulge in beer

In cigarettes and in

Greasy food

Men have a bulging belly

Men

Yes,

Men can afford to be themselves

While

I, have to look out of this world

I, have to look plastic

I, and all of my sisters

Have to appear all perfect!

Pray

Has the society not gone too far?

Has the society not crossed its limits?

Media and technology

Do help shape the feminine body

Media and technology

Can make me look like a goddess

But is it the real me?

Is the real me not

A being living upon the beats of a frail heart

Is the real me

Not subject to be human

To look simple and humble

To be prone to put on weight

To want to eat some greasy food as well

To want to look natural

Without having my face stuffed with make up

To walk like a lady

Yet, to walk about comfortably

In sneakers

Or flats?

Why?

Why should I hide my pimples

Why should I hide my wrinkles

Why should I make as if I don’t have stretch marks

I am, before being a woman,

A woman judged in a man’s world

A woman analyzed from head to toe by the men

I am,

A child of the universe

A child having been created to be as such

A child meant to be as I am

Real

And down to Earth

Real and

Asking naught but to live and to be let

Asking naught but to be accepted

The way I am!

I am not a doll

I am not an object of plastic surgery

But neither are those men

Those men who think that I have in me

Everlasting powers to keep them interested and aroused!

Why

In this world here, everything is subject to change

See how easily a day turns into night

See how easily the caterpillar becomes a butterfly

See how easily a seed becomes a fruit

See how easily the clouds turn into rain

Why

So am I, a being made to be as I am

A being, subjected to Time!

Love, tell me~~~

If I cry openly Will it move you Love? Or do you feel stable Only when I smile and pretend That my blooms are wilting not That my moons...
