Whirlpooling~~~~

Say, are we all not meant to submit to the same fate?
In the very end,
Are we all not meant to shed off our body,
To leave it to rot, or to be disintegrated
While Existence shall then unfold to us
Its many layers of wonder and mystery!

Say, of what use is believing that we hold it in our grip,
This essence which remains
So subtle
Yet, so potent
As to have us totally lost in its depths!

Of what use is living according to it
When it is not real
When it is not meant to last
When it remains as the tunes of flutes
So sweet while it is perceivable
Yet, meant to be forgotten
Once it stops playing!

Why, the expression on our faces
Remains something meant to be shared
By the millions of treading human bodies of Earth
The feelings that hit our hearts
Are felt by the same millions of treading humans
So why should we believe
That these rule us
That we are meant to act according to them
And that we shall crumble when denied of them!

Why, we are all submitted to the whims of the same fate
Even if the paths of each one of us remain unique
Pray, if only,
Just by closing our eyes
And diving in the pool of our reality
We could find the source of that which rules over us!

Being Still~~~~

Life handed me my ascribed duties
With a straight face and a smile hidden in its eyes
Go, it said,
As its invoked winds pushed me to where I was due!

Once there, I chose to obey Life
For I did not want to be deemed as being ungrateful
Rather, I wanted to be among those
Whose history would clearly shout out
That we accepted life and everything that it threw
Upon our open palms!

I did my duties, carrying on my shoulders
The statue of stoicism
And that of determination
Even if I could not understand anything
About why I was doing whatever I was!

I simply told myself, that someday,
Life would hand me a key
To open its door and things would then fall into place
But, how mistaken I was!

As, from the very depth of my being,
Something started beating,
Pulsating, bouncing even
With a frenzy that I could not handle!
It beat so hard that it had me flying high up on red clouds
Having me wanting solely to allow it to keep on beating
Till shall come the time when, exhausted,
I shall lose myself in succumbing to it!

Seeking answers,
I frantically tried to find the list of duties that life had handed me
I sought to know if handling those frenetic beats were part of same
But the winds just reminded me that these had been washed away
By heavy rains!

I chose to call out to Life, wanting to get clear and concise answers
But I could not find it
Rather, I kept being dragged and being twirled in the grip of that power in me!

I chose to whisper my quest to flowers, as they danced in green meadows,
Hoping that someday, they would meet Life
And convey to it,
My concerns
But the flowers just looked at me, like Life did,
With a straight face and with a smile hidden
In their eyes!

Pray, meanwhile, the beats of that power that lay in me
Were getting more and more powerful
As powerful as a drug
As to cause me to be addicted to them
And to fear for whether someday, they shall beat no more!

Pray, to my duties I do swear holy allegiance
I decided then, to be still
And to let Life react at its own time and pace
It shall invoke its winds again
I am sure,
And these shall blow me on my fated path!

In the guise of a man

In the guise of a man
You shall have my heart to mend

In the guise of a man

Be the ruler of my hand!

In the guise of a man

Pray, do tend me in this land!

In the guise of a man

You shall have to bear my stand

In the guise of a man

Be calmed at the sight of my wand

In the guise of a man

Oh, do love me, for I am a mere woman!

In the guise of a man

Protect me from the harmful brigand!

In the guise of a man

Be sincere, pray, and never pretend!

In the guise of a man

Always let it flow what you intend

In the guise of a man

Make me Queen of this island!

In the guise of a man

Allow me to set a new trend!

In the guise of a man

I shall need your love, O Friend!

In the guise of a man

See me not as the great fiend!

In the guise of a man

When shall you kiss me, Oh When?

The Freshness of Life

The freshness of life
Can be felt as flowers dance in meadows
As birds fly, chirping ecstatically
As clouds lazy around, watching our every move
As mountains stand by, so bold and majestic
As waves roll by, gleefully enjoying their games with the ocean floor!

The freshness of life
Can be seen in the moon's glow
As it sparkles with a knowing smirk,
Enthusiastic, as it gets to watch the nocturnal secrets
Of each and every living being!

The freshness of life
Is felt as the lover sprawls on the moist and cold grass
Late in the night's hours
As the whole world sleeps
Lying in wait for the beloved,
The beloved, torn into pieces
By waves and bursts of uncontrollable
And incomprehensible passion!

The freshness of life
Is the solace that faith gives
When written it has, in books held as priceless
Of what lies after the body's disposal!

The freshness of life
Lies in those dreams fairies bid us to see when we slumber
Dreams of what is to come
Dreams, made of mysticism and awe
Aiming simply to guide us on our paths!

The freshness of life
Is played on the strings of violins
Having a power potent enough
As to wake the whole universe
And to cause it to turn all emotional and irrational
As to cry over that which is yearned for but which shall never be!

The freshness of life
Is seeing life itself go on its way
Moving through its cycles and its stages
As diligently as disciplined children do at school!

Why, to the freshness of life have I chosen to focus on
As its essence
Is what makes up the millions of atoms
That make up the being that I am!

Staring Life~~~

Life stared at me
As I fidgeted about,
Moved by its drums,
Wanting solely to seek a refuge
A refuge in which I would be my own Queen!

Life stared at me
And I began to feel nervous
Wondering what was it that Life
Wanted from me!

Speak, whispered I to Life
Speak, please do!

Why can you not, at least once, it said
See the good things that I thrust upon you?
Why can't you love me
Why do you keep saying,
You hate me?

I opened my mouth to speak
Of how the pain of living Life as it was
Was agonizing
I wanted to tell Life
Of how I regret having left the abode of the Lord
Of how I yearn to be back up there
In the cozy warmth of the Heavens
But,
No words sputtered out of my mouth
When it dawned upon me
Of how selfish a soul Life deemed me to be!

Pray, living in a shell in which I have chosen to shelter myself
I refuse to see Life
I refuse to heal it
I refuse to cure it
To lighten her suffering
Rather, like millions of others
I keep complaining
Wishing that I had what I have not!
Wishing that I were that which I am not!
Wishing that I could do that which I am not meant to!

Life, I said shakily,
Please do forgive my whims
I shall do my best
To be as you deem me to
So that your burden shall no more feel sore
Pray,
Do forgive me
For having lived all this time
As one caring solely for me and never for you!

Life sighed heavily, then, it closed its mouth
And went back to staring at me
As I fidgeted about
And got about to do my things
As I usually did
While its drums started beating again
To the fiery rhythms of frenzy!

Desires~~~

I desired swells
So the oceans rose!

I desired new life
So the earth shook!

I desired happiness
So butterflies danced!

I desired peace
So clouds caught me in their bubble!

I desired freedom
So the winds dragged me on their course!

I desired kindness
So life pampered me as it would pamper a child!

I desired purity
So dew droplets recounted to me their story!

I desired inspiration
So my muse filled up my heart, even if from afar!

I desired fulfillment
So fate thrust me on my fated path!

I desired Death
So the skies opened up my soul
And showed me the personification of Love on earth!

I desired Love
And learnt to submit to Time
To the whims of the Ego
To the conditions of Patience
And to the rules that govern being a woman!

Desires, desires,
Desires fill me up
As air fills up everything all around us
As words fill up books
As feelings fill up the heart!

Desires, desires
Pray, can I be stronger
Stronger enough as to beat them
Or,
Shall they drag me along
Pulling me by my hair
And have me succumb to them
In ecstatic submission?

Worshipping Ardour~~~~

Enslaved am I to the essence that you are
Said I to Love,
As we sat on the edge of a cliff,
Each one lost in a train of thoughts
That we deemed
The other one would not understand
If spoken out loud!

Love blinked
And turned his face, trying to decipher me!

I have been molded by you, for you, I continued,
Since more than millions of creation processes
I have been with you
Completing you
Assuaging you
Necessitating you
Empowering you
Shouldering you
I have been by you
For as long as my soul can remember!

Pray, this life is a mistake for both of us
Though I am the cause of it
As,
I chose to fall here, in this world without any meaning
Hoping, by doing so,
To lose myself completely from you
And thus,
Inflicting upon me,
So much suffering, which would cause me to forget
Of how I cannot be without you!
Yet,
This life remains a gift, an opportunity,
To nurture that flame which binds us in its sacred bond
As,
Once we shall be back to the land still believed by some,
To be more than imaginary,
I wish to be able to say,
With tears falling from my eyes,
That you loved me still,
Against all odds!

Why, other than loving you,
My aim on Earth has no purpose
You remain, the sight of birds flying over waterfalls,
You remain, the sound of flutes played by mystics in caves
You remain, the feel of warm water after a tiring and sweaty day at work
You remain, the cure for incurable diseases
You remain, the reason why the world revolves
You remain, the one for whom I promised the Gods
To live, and to face life, as long as my human birth would require me to!

All else, even if denied vehemently,
Lingers around only for a time
Why, even this whole plane shall crumble someday
Wish I solely
To have our love's flame
Burning brightly still,
In those realms from where new cycles of creation
Shall be deliberated!

I am your slave, said I to Love
I shall be still, as long as my inner strength shall allow me to!

Corroborating with life~~~

Of my mundane duties have I made my sanctity
Yes, of my obligations have I turned into meanings
As this,
Is what is expected of me!

But my mind keeps flying up there
Beyond the clouds
My heart keeps twisting itself into a maze of sorrow
For,
I miss the Gods!

I miss the fairness of living with them
I miss the peace that reigned
I miss how I used to laugh
I miss being the most prized jewel,
One which would keep on shining
One which was asked to keep shining
As the hands that touched me needed my appeal
As the eyes that pressed on me needed my glow
To be able to carry on with their own existence!

Pray, I am ready
For whatever the skies would will upon me
I am ready,
If such is needed to be allowed to step back up
On the ladder of mystery
To be hoisted up there,
Somewhere found beyond the limits of human vision
Of human conception
Of human knowledge!
I am ready
For I miss it all!

Fallen for the sake of feminine fragility
Fallen for the sake of love,
Love, which seeks only its own reparation
Love, which seeks its own fulfillment
Love, which is there in front of me, being so subtle,
So enigmatic, so incomprehensible,
Love for which I was born here on Earth
Love, which is required,
To be accepted back,
There, where music flows in between the layers of air,
There, where jolliness and joy, simply for the sake of being,
Makes one relish the state of Existing
As one would appreciate the taste of a juicy fruit,
On a hot summer day!

Why, into my mundane duties shall I keep myself busy
Of my plaguing aches shall I keep writing
Till some sort of power will lower itself down
To scoop my soul's torn pieces so as to shape them
And mold them,
As it would want to!

Trepidation~~~

A huge discomfort gripped my heart
And tried to squeeze its life out
When I was shaken
To see how scary this world is;
People learn,
Right from their young age,
That they have to pay respect
To some entity they call God,
But whom they have never seen
For themselves!

How scary this world is,
Pain grips on to us from all sides
Sometimes by inflicting upon us
The burden of wanting that which we shall never have
Sometimes by thrusting in our faces
The harshness of Death and eternal separation
And at other times,
By hammering on us, mundane toils,
Mundane toils meant to tear away our peace of mind
Meant to have us worrying constantly
Instead of enjoying the beauty that this world can have!

Why, this world is one where I am meant to suffer,
Pray, such has come to my awakening more than a decade ago
A world, so like a prison
Where life is held tight to rules, to conditions,
To the whims of the Ego, to the imposition of lust,
And to the vulnerability of love!

Like the rest of the people,
Me too, I do pray to that entity called God
But, unlike the rest of the people
I pray in ways I feel like,
Ways not really conform to what has been stipulated
By books, written by people I have never seen
And shall never see
Yet, people whose words everyone else abide!

Like the rest of the people,
I toil, hoping that the great entity shall be kind to me
If I do show it that I am being kind in my person
Why, somehow,
I wish to have the padlocks tied to my ankles opened up
I wish to grow wings
And I wish to fly out of this world's limits
I wish to be there,
Where life is,
Rhyming constantly with love!

Loitering~~~~

Pray, when Existence deemed it appropriate,
It did cup its hands
And cradled my broken pieces in!

Yes, it lifted me up,
Showed me the expanse of life's flowery gardens;
How fragranced they were
How fair they were
How ambient they were
And how comfortable I would be there!

Then, Existence put me back on my path
Bidding me to walk according to its rhythms
To dance according to its tunes
To live, for it!

Why, Existence then went back to its duties
Caring never to acknowledge
How much my heart kept bleeding
Without its tender gaze over my torn soul!

What meaning is to be attributed to the world
When treading I am
Without any specific aim?
Where am I headed to,
If today has to lead to tomorrow
And tomorrow never does come?

Existence teased at my insight
Wanting to test its valor
But wonder I at how it qualifies me
Now that I have fallen back to being
A mere puddle of spilt water,
Lying on the floor,
Being unable to lift myself up
Or to have anyone lift me up
So as to be kept back
In Existence's bottle of perfume?

Why, Existence and I need each other
Else its purpose would be defeated
As my broken mess would not have been able
To show it
Of that love which I have claimed to feel for it!

Shall I keep crawling in the mud
Shall I keep watering my whole being with more
And more
Of Existence's essence
Till it shall deem it appropriate
To cup its hands
And place me on one of those flowers
Which I have seen
Swaying merrily in life's flowery gardens!

Peaceful Night~~~~

The peace of the summer night is overwhelming
Pray, in its calming effects do I let myself drown in,
Allowing myself to let go of my cares,
My toils, my worries, my aches, my egoistic itches

The peace of the summer night promises,
With its refreshing fragrance
The lifting of the veil of darkness from our vision!

Yes, someday, we shall all come to see for ourselves
How fairies were given their duties to carry out,
How Earth was made to keep on rotating
How humans were imposed upon to be
How life itself was given its essence!

Amidst this swelling of carefreeness in my soul
I can help it not
I have to allow my tears to create streams over my face
Only to get absorbed in my clothes
Pray, I do be, yes,
I do choose to abide to fate's will, yes
But is it my sole aim
Pray, if only the crickets could give me answers while they sing
As to why I have been brought into a meaningless world
One which pushes me to toil
So as to be allowed to sustain myself
I would have known how to proceed on my path!

But the silence keeps staring at me
Stars seem to mock me
By flaunting their sparkling magnificence at me
Aiming to remind me at how fickle I am
Even if I consider my consciousness
To be the center of my own world!

Why, would it not be better to be up there,
Made of star dust and dark matter?
Would it not be better to adorn the night sky
So as to overwhelm humans, who,
Unlike me,
Find happiness in their meaningless lives?

The peace of the summer night conflicts with my inner ethos
All because, I find not my place here
All because, I struggle to be,
As living remains for me, a punishment from the higher powers!
In the peaceful night I do let go of the weight burdening my chest
Seek I solely to find my way back to where I come from
Pray,
Time, ruling over me, as a master would over his slave,
Glares at me, somehow reminding me
That, whether I like it or not,
I am to abide to what I have been given
Yes, I am to find my own peace in this peaceful nocturnal scene!

The Past

The Past loomed over me,
Glaring at me intimidatingly
As if, I were a child
One who had been tempted to steal chocolates
And it,
My keeper, meant to control my intake of sugar!

The Past loomed over me,
Wanting to drag me down in its whirlpool
Knowing that once I would be swirling uncontrollably
I would,
Once more,
Be as broken as a fallen eggshell!

But I stood up, looked at the Past with indifference
And blew it away!
As it got dispersed
I could only smile calmly,
Pray,
Indifference is what I feel,
For its structure which shall never be sustainable
Yes, it is one made of fogs, of blurs,
Of falls, of the process of learning how to stand up,
How to face life, how to assume mistakes,
How to understand about that which is trivial
And how to slash at dragons!

Why, the Past has allowed me to sharpen my gaze,
To believe in my dreams
To recognize Love and,
To welcome it!

The Past has allowed me to learn to listen to Life
As it whispers its guidance to me,
So that,
I can see through it,
And live it as I should!

Pray, the Past exists no more,
What is now is solely the will of Fate
As it imposes itself comfortably in my heart
Causing me to climb mountains while I remain seated
And to hear stars play their instruments in the silence of the night!

Souls' Mates

The sight of souls meeting with their fated mates
Remains as thrilling a joy
As is sitting in a clear forest on a cool day
And listening to river waters gurgle
As they diligently make their way to the ocean!

The moment souls meet with their fated mates
Remains as ecstatic as when stars birth
Propelled by some invisible hand
Perceived not by human senses!

Why, souls, lost and totally disconnected with their fates
Remain thirsting for their fated mates
As long as the skies would want to see them suffer
But the moment redemption has been attained
Souls do get to meet their other halves,
So that, when entwined and tangled in each other's
Feverish and desirous rapture
Pray, all the inhabitants of the other realms
Feel compelled to close their eyes
Unable to bear the embers of their blushing cheeks!

Pray, the higher powers do introduce their will
Seeking solely to see the trodden souls awaken
So as to bless them with the grace of mysticism
Which shall allow them to pluck stars and
To make love in deserts of golden sand
Illuminated by a thousand moons
While being held protected and secured
By the bliss of eternity!

Yes, when fated souls meet with each other
The whole of Existence itself
Forms a bonding circle
Around them, merely wanting to see them
Being for each other,
The God and the Goddess of Love!

Darkness~~~

Into the darkness, I do wish to succumb
As if it were a gigantic ray of overwhelming light
And I, a mere moth
Unable to control my senses and my delight
When faced with it!

Pray, darkness matches the mood of my inner ethos
Darkness and nothingness
Intriguing the soul to probe further about itself
So that at the end of it all
Even if the lightning threatens
And the thunder overpowers the act of behaving correctly
Pray, the end of the tunnel shall be reached
There, where the source of the light emanates
Allowing me, the mere moth
To lose myself in its blinding magnificence!

Darkness accompanied by the harsh and cruel winds
Darkness imbibed with the touch of evil
Darkness, made of sins and of unquenched desires
Darkness, the right medium allowing me to thrive
As if
Without it, I become dust
Ash
Atoms, particles,
Neutrons
Meant not to be made of any impact!

The darkness have I chosen to wed
For this realm is made of such
Pray, here even if one does get fooled by the daylight
The prominent power acting out its will over us
Remains the darkness
Both visible and invisible!
Yes, the darkness have I chosen to wed
Till shall come the time for when I shall rouse
Propelled as seeds are from the soil by rainwater
Propelled as oceanic waves are by powerful winds
Propelled by the same force which drives humanity unto its path
To rouse again and again
To meet the ways of its fate!

Come darkness, come hither
And cradle me up on your bosom
Together, we shall admire the glow of the moon
While it dances, majestically,
Into the night sky!

Idyllic Musing

Life remains, without the comfort of my muse,
A sad violin tune
Listening to which
I would fly,
To a past life,
Known only to me,
And to my muse
A past life,
Where our love shined so bright
That it was celebrated in all realms
A past life,
Where living equated to loving!

Life remains, without the comfort of my muse,
A raging sea
One in which the trodden and the desperate
Have lost their bodies,
After having had their souls imprisoned in glass cages
Yes, life remains, without the comfort of my muse,
An emptiness
Which nothing can fill up!

Pray, what am I, without my muse
If not a coin broken in two pieces
If not a mirror shattered into millions of parts
If not water, spilt on the floor
If not an aimless soul, letting myself be blown
There where the winds of life would want to!

Pray, hope I, by closing my eyes into the nether
To have threads from my heart
Connect to that of my muse
So that fate and the skies' will,
May happen as they do desire!

Having glimpsed my muse~~~

I have been given a glimpse of my muse
Yes, made of flesh and blood,
Like me, he battles with the vagaries of life
As much as he can!

So human, so down to earth,
It would seem that
The power of Maya has won over his intent!

Yes, even if he has come to Earth to save me
Pray, the blurry fog of his own birth
Has had him forgetting of his aim!

Why, I have been given a glimpse of my muse
Always thought I that he was made of invisibility
Always thought I that he lived in the clouds
Always thought I that he guided my pen from up there
Always thought I that I was to saunter across my path
All alone, as confidently as a lone wolf would!

But since I have been given a glimpse of my muse
I have been offering millions of thanks to the skies
Yes, so much that the Heavens have started to celebrate
By lighting lamps in ode to our union
As the love between us has been existing
Since the times before creation started!

Pray, my muse, so attractive and charismatic
Pulls me closer and closer
As if, he was bidding me to rest in between his arms
As if, he was yearning to plant me in his heart's garden
As if, he needed me to complete his soul!

Why, ever since I have been given a glimpse of my muse,
Like Radha, I have grown detached to everything else
For nothing matters,
Except me being the center of his world
And he being the force that shall keep my heart beating!

Ready for Life~~~

I glanced at Life
Mesmerized by the power it displayed
And wondered at how it perceived me!

Pray, did it want me to keep on bowing down to it
Shall it keep me humble by tearing me into pieces
And making me wholly dependent upon itself?

I glanced at Life,
While waves of Love
Drowned me under their weight
Yes, for the sake of Life's mystery
I am ready to be torn apart,
To be shattered into pieces
To be submerged under darkness
To be rebuked and scorned at!

Pray, for what is Life
If not the manifestation of the skies' splendor
What is Life
If not a time lapse to allow ourselves
To show to whoever would wish to see
That we do have goodness in us
What is Life
If not an opportunity to prove to the higher powers
That we shall keep loving them
For as long as they would keep us breathing!

Pray, I glanced at Life,
All alone on a cold night
While I walked,
Naked,
Across some desert
Seemingly lost and seemingly searching for myself
I glanced at Life,
And whispered into the night
My hearty secrets of submission
My joys of suffering
My hopes of having my love acknowledged,
Knowing that the winds would carry my whispers across the world
So that each and every living soul
Would someday bear testimony
Of my allegiance to Life,
Simply because it is the manifestation of the higher powers!

Love, tell me~~~

If I cry openly Will it move you Love? Or do you feel stable Only when I smile and pretend That my blooms are wilting not That my moons...
