Vivid and Misty~~~~

You might like to lend me an ear
So I might tell you something you'd like to hear
My most whimsical, my most fantastic dream
The one in which I was a bonsai it would seem

It happened two nights ago
I went to bed with a heart full of sorrow
And prayed to the Lord of tomorrow
To help me go with life's flow

And I closed my eyes only to open them again
And looked around while trying to ascertain
Of what I had become
Of where I had come from

I had no feet, I had a root
I had no house, I had only a vase
And everything around me seemed bigger in space
Everything looked like stars in shoot

I watched life, silently, dumbly
I envied those who could move
I hoped to move with as much liberty
But I was stuck to this vasey grave

And I felt the despair
It was one to be hors pair
Never before my previous whims seemed so useless
Childish even, for I realised I was a pampered self

And that was when I woke up
It was just a dream, I said, shaken up
Thank God!  What about all those sorrows

Why they can go down the burrows!

A Christmas Carol~~~

If I had to describe Christmas through the eyes of a child at play
I would smile and feel the comfort of the sun's ray
For such a Christmas is surely like the end of the wars
The end of all that can cause pain and of all that did bring scars

If I had to describe Christmas through the eyes of the grown man
I would sign and say here comes the time to spend
All I earned after a whole year's of labour
About to be lost in as little as a wonder

If I had to describe Christmas through the eyes of the angels
I would cry and sing out to humanity, love spells
For such a time needs to be spent in love
By remembering the heavens and their mercy from up above

If I had to describe Christmas through the eyes of the rich
I would laugh and be thankful for my hunger does get quenched
And my close ones do not feel the painful itch
Of all those who are, with darkness, all drenched!

If I had to describe Christmas through the eyes of the poor
I would cry and lament oh for sure
Not even something to give to myself
Not even something to bring to my care, my health

If I had to describe Christmas through my own eyes
I would surely say, thank you to the skies
Thank you for all that you do bestow on mine fate
As for my struggles, pray, have faith, I shall accommodate

After a very busy and a very sad year
Let us all, on Christmas, say a prayer
To thank the heavens for our given dues
To thank the heavens for all of our healed bruises!

The arrows of Cupid~~~

There should be no laws
To counter the path of love
Love, sent by the God of arrows
Meant to rid us of our blows

Yet, should you try to understand its essence
I am sure you would simply end up more confused
For Love is surely worth a debate
Its mystery and ardor emanating from the unknown

Yet, should you fall in love
You have to be ready to bear with pain
For true love is never fulfilled
Rather, it ends up taking another route

There should indeed be no laws
Laws governing love makes it insane
Love thrives when it is free
Love dances when it is within its own limits

Love is also tainted with desire
And has become, as at date, known as lust
So lust has no route to follow
Except that of its instinctive satisfaction

And why does it not last
I do wonder with incredulity
Love strikes only once
And if you are lucky, for ever it shall thrive!

For if it does not, why does He be the God of Love
Is he no more existing?
Is he fed up with the deviation of love
Is he angry at the plight of humankind

Cupid, listen to the beating of my heart
After ages, it still calls for a lost part
One who, so cruel, broke me up in pieces

That today, none can mend me with stitches!

A Child's Christmas

Through his eyes, see that magical tree
See how it glistens and shines, so free
See its magical ray
Help him make of this day, his own day!

Dreams, hope, passion, all are in his eyes
All emanating from his belief in the skies
A belief given to him on a cold night
By the one to turn off his room light

In his smile, see how the world goes
Devoid of any useless sorrows
Always made up of countless of bows and arrows
Given by the one blessing all our tomorrows

On his face, see the beauty of joy
All because of one given toy
Given for the cause of the holy birth
The birth of the one who showed us our path

And in his hands, holding his colorful gift
Feel, feel, the change in mood
From saddened loneliness to exaltation
Such, such can only be at the time of a child's christmas

A child, blessed to be on this earth
A child unfortunate to have, over his head, no roof
A child missed by none
A child you pleased and blessed, with only one gift!

Guilty or not~~~

Does it make me evil,
Mean even
If I choose my right?

Do I have to be guilty
And hide my flame
If I choose to say No?

If you do see me as selfish
Pray, do keep to yourself
All that is in your mind

Your opinion, your voice
Could certainly not make any difference
Neither to my soul, nor to my world

I am only a device of the Lord
Made somehow in his own image
With lots of tricks up my sleeve

With desire, pain and passion
And I do only wish to be seen
As the one to have loved the words!

Beyond the rainbow~~~~

While walking down a lonely path,
I did meet an old witch with whom I shared a laugh
Tell me your story
She said out of absurdity
Tell me what makes you an authenticity among the many

I have, as comfort, my only dreams
They make me enjoy my own whims
And give me a place to hide
A place to be my own pride
To enjoy, up to the stars, a solo ride

Then, said the witch, you do not see the unnecessary
You care not for the blurry and the foggy
Come, I shall show you some treasure
And I followed her at leisure
Till we reached the apex of our adventure

A rainbow it was, so magical,
So royal, so mystical, so real
And the witch led me to its gates
Where, she said, lay the roads to the new states
And where, I shall no more be, for my dreams, in insatiates!

There, people were of the seven colors
There, exists not any of those horrors
Those made with lust, anger, greed or jealousy
There, is only a world of absolute serenity
There, I made into my home, so cozy!

And from there, I write to you those lines
May they keep you as fruitful as grapes in vines
Caring not for the unnecessary
But seeking always to find that reality
That which you read of in my poetry!

My Secret Pen~~~

Of all my most haunting experiences
Is the one time I came across the seller of fragrances
He was all tall and dark
And looked as dangerous as a shark

Yet, I cared not for his hungry looks
Having been caught in hooks
By his bottles of scents
All worth not more than a few cents

In a hurry to open one and to imbibe myself with
I did not notice the bottle in which the genie did live
Free, he brought me to my doom
And ordered me to be submissive if I would choose to bloom

Having no other option than to abide
I gave him all that which I kept in pride
And slowly came to know of how pure is his heart
For very soon, he became my own sweetheart

A kind soul, a pure soul, with the charm of a king
He brought me to high levels of enlightening
And made of me a solo queen
Of my story read, and be serene!

For he is none other than my muse
The one for whom my words do muse
My only friend,

My secret pen!

If to be is to love~~~

To be in love
Is it simply to live?
Is it to find relief
Among the floating grief

To be in love
Is it to be able to forgive
When the moment calls for revenge
When the moment calls for a challenge

If such is to be in love
May I be forever in such love
Always with all the creatures of the world
Always with all that emanates from the great Lord

To be living
Is it to be acknowledging
That someday, I shall keep on breathing
There where there is some other envisioning!

Then, come, let me live, let me love
Let me fly, let me be the one to drive
Let me make of my own story
One worthy to be kept in the world's memory!

The Festival of Lights~~~

How absolutely gorgeous
How absolutely delicious
The return of the Lord, always so gracious
From his exile, the land of the inglorious

How absolutely magnificent
To see for a night, the world so radiant
Usually so dull and so dark
Blessed it is, blessed with a divine spark

Humanity can only be awed at this exalt
And can only wish for time to halt
For such a night
Comes only once a year

Only once a year do I get the joy
Of sharing with my peers
A smile laden with happy tears
Candies made with a mood so coy

Fourteen lamps do we ceremoniously light
For 14 years, battles with evil, our Lord did fight
Battles which tested his love with great might
Battles which make insignificant our own sorrowful plight

Pray, world, do taste of my home made pastries
Made with love and devotion
Shared with you  not to please only the divinities
But also to bring a smile to the faces of the whole population

Divali, a much loved festival
Better than even the carnival
Tonight, let us make of our cultural duty

Our shared promise of pious charity!

A reason simply~~~

The essence of life
I do keep wondering about
Is it all about faith
Is it a mere wait for death

The essence of death
Such brings to me great joy
New ways opening up to my soul
New avenues bringing me closer to the Lord

The call of my heart
Such do I discard with mere casualness
Of what use is the meaning of love
If not only to be lust in disguise

And what of the aim of living
Such has brought about great philosophising
In what to believe
In having an aim or simply to be an accident of science

The reason to be happy
Whether in great euphoria or in misery
Is surely the test of the Lord
To see whether someday we do deserve a reward

And what would I make of myself
After all this pondering
Pray, if you do have an answer

Lend it to me, so I may say faithfully my daily prayer!

Love, tell me~~~

If I cry openly Will it move you Love? Or do you feel stable Only when I smile and pretend That my blooms are wilting not That my moons...
