To be happy~~~~

What matters in the end
What shall eventually matter in the end
Is whether we did lead a happy life
Whether we were content and satisfied

Whether we did feel loved
Comforted, accepted
Praised, forgiven
Desired, needed, whether consideration to us was given

It is all that does matter in the end
All that shall eventually matter
It shall matter not, our lack of beauty
Our lack of money

Nor shall our daily struggle for our failed achievement
Nor shall our attempted measures at pleasing others
Nor shall our fancied acquisitions
Nor shall our faded out luck

It shall not matter if we did emerge as failures
It shall not matter if we did not unearth those treasures
It shall not matter if we were not up to being fashionable
If we were not talented

If we lived a lonely life
If we ate not lavishly
If we chose not to mingle with others
If we preferred to be home-sy instead of outdoor-sy

It shall certainly not matter
If we chose not to keep contact with our friends
If we chose to keep aloof
If we chose to be selfish even

It shall not matter, nothing shall
What shall matter is whether we were happy
Whether we had it, this inner peace
That same feeling, sought by millions and millions of men

That same feeling, talked about in those books of holiness
That same feeling which shall make our passage here, a marvel
That same feeling which does imbibe my heart
Each time I turn my gaze up towards the skies

Yes, it is all that shall matter in the end
Life is short, life is lived only once
Life is a toil, a fall, yet, if we all do be happy
We shall vanquish evil's grasp on it!

I do care to make it matter
I shall aspire to be happy
Even amidst adversity
Yes, for being happy does keep my soul thriving!
