If I could bring to my life some changes
I would choose to have another birth
A birth occurring not in our era
A birth occurring rather, at the time of Cleopatra's rule
Mystified I am by that epoch
An epoch of unsolved puzzles surely
How could Man build such monuments?
When He himself was just a toddler
Learning about all that does surround Him
Learning about all that does make Him be
Why, surely I would come to see those who built mazes
Why, surely I would come to know about why were the dead mummified
Does life surely continue after death
Does life end here with the body just turning into dust
If I was an Egyptian priestess, I would have been able to decipher it all
Whereas now I am still, spent and worn
I do read of ancient Egypt
And I am lost in my own enthrall
I can only dare to dream
Life is itself but a dream
If not, why would yesterday be rubbed off
Rubbed off from our minds
From our actions
Why would it remain only as a memory
And why would we hope
Hope about having a better future
When it is but a frugality
Life does end,
Life does not mend!
Did Man take eons to build pyramids
Or was Man then, some sort of superman?
Pray, for knowledge I do thirst
If I could change anything about my life
I would choose to have a new birth
A birth in the ancient city of Egypt
Would I live then by the side of those,
Those who were close to the secrets of the skies!
